A Busy Summer and Early Fall

The past few months have been a whirlwind with lots of demo and construction in the midst of an already interesting and highly unusual year. The summer started with a bang as we began our renovation process here at the brewery. Demolition and jackhammer work, sometimes digging four or more feet below the previous flooring, went into the creation of a new drain system for the brewery and taproom. The drainage and plumbing took a few weeks and involved the help of some good friends. At the same time, we replaced our old 4x6 ft cooler with a new 12x16 ft walk-in to store beer and ingredients. We now have room to keep several batches of beer at a consistent cool temperature.

The back of the brewery wasn’t the only part of Crossroads that we updated this summer. Out front, we poured a new concrete bar. Behind this, a new 30 tap system, cut into the wall, forms a small “beer grotto” framed by decorative tile and repurposed cedar wood. This set up will give us lots of taps to serve a variety of beers. In about a month, we’re planning to have a wide range of our own beers hooked up to the taps and ready for sampling. We’re currently connecting TVs and refurbishing some well worn church pews, which will provide additional seating. In addition to several high and low top tables, we have two large custom seating areas which are perfect for larger groups or folks who want to put together a poker night with friends. This construction has taken about 6 months and we have been able to add our own personal touches along the way - like a water fountain that we built from an old wine barrel.

In the last week, we painted the ceiling and replaced the lighting in the taproom. Gone are our drop ceilings and fluorescent lights. Now we have an open, modern industrial interior with multiple farmhouse lights hanging from the ceilings.

This summer was filled with deconstructing and reconstructing Crossroads to make it our own. We could not be more grateful for the countless hours and hard work everyone put into making this a reality. We can’t wait for you to see our new space - keep following along for more!
